When I open some programs, the Enterprise Search option is missing in the M3 Window. How do I enable ES on a Window I know supports it?

In CMS021, an Index has to be generated for the Sorting Order where Enterprise Search is missing.

If you don't have a key index for the search needed, they can be setup in CMS030. CMS030

Related Searches are setup in CMS022. enter image description here

You need to update the table indexes by recrawling the database

1 Select Administration Tools > M3 Function Search Administration.
2 Select the Index check boxes for the relevant tables.
3 Click Deactivate or Activate tables to update the indexes. Activate crawls the selected tables.
Note: Updating several indexes can be a time-consuming process, depending on the size of the
tables. You can crawl up to 10 tables simultaneously.
4 Click Refresh to show the latest status. You can do this while a crawl is ongoing.

This error message could appears if there is a table that has no search index in the IES Administration in 'M3 Related Tables. Connect'(CMS011) too. In that case the error message is misleading.

The recommendation is NOT to use search in related tables as a generic solution, but rather define a key search where the related table is part of it.
The reason for this is the "unpredictable search result" due to hits in the related tables. To remove the related search information use related option 22 in CMS011.
